Authorities say a boy brought a loaded BB gun to a school in Manhattan Monday.
No one was injured and the child was taken to the local police precinct, principal George Young said.
Caregivers picking up children from P.S. 46 were notified by letter that the gun had been found earlier in the day.
One woman, whose 6-year-old niece attends the school, said parents need to be more aware of what their children are doing.
"You never know when they're going to get their hands on a real gun," she said.
