A gunman opened fire on a Paterson, N.J. police car early on Saturday morning, hitting the squad car at least five times but nobody was injured, officials said.

The car was shot up at Haledon Ave. and N. Main St.  At least eight shell casings litter the street and there are several bullet holes in the windshield of the car.

It is unclear if anyone was in the car at the time but police said that nobody was hurt.
