Four subway lines that stopped service due to a track fire are now operating at full capacity, according to transit officials.

A fire in a substation at the 7th Avenue and 53rd Street subway station on the 6th Avenue line shut down or delayed service for hours this afternoon. Th 7, B, C, F, F and G lines all experienced delays.

The fire started just before 11:15 a.m. Four fire engines and about 60 firefighters responded to the substation, which had to be evacuated, the spokesman said.

It wasn't immediately clear if people were stuck on trains during the outage.

There were no immediate reports of injuries. Transit officials said the fire was in an electrical substation, causing heavy smoke. Fire officials were investigating the cause of the fire.
