Authorities have accused a hotel guard in New Jersey of sexually assaulting a male student from New York during a class trip.
The 16-year-old from Syracuse, N.Y., told a chaperone that 25-year-old Jose Olivares had engaged in nonconsensual sexual activity in the student's room early Sunday. Olivares was hired by a company to provide security for the students at the hotel in Rutherford.
Olivares was arrested at his home in Jersey City.
He's held on $100,000 bail, charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
It's not known if Olivares has a lawyer.
