Jersey City Man Charged With Decapitations Sentenced for Robberies

A Jersey City charged with murdering and decapitating two men has been sentenced to prison for two unrelated robberies.

The state attorney general's office says 30-year-old Yusuf Ibrahim was sentenced Thursday in Hudson County to 18 years in prison.

Ibrahim had pleaded guilty to separate robberies in Jersey City that occurred in 2011 and 2012. The 2011 robbery was a carjacking. In the 2012 robbery, Ibrahim shot one of his victims in the foot.

Ibrahim is charged with the 2013 murder of 25-yaer-old Hany Tawadros and 27-year-old Amgad Konds, both of whom were Egyptian nationals.

Ibrahim allegedly abducted them and shot each in the chest, then buried the bodies in southern New Jersey.

Authorities say Ibrahim cut of their heads and hands to hinder identification.
