Truck Crashes Into Metro-North Overpass in NYC

A truck crashed into a Metro-North overpass in Manhattan Monday night, leading to closed tracks and some delays, the MTA said.

The semi-truck, which was carrying air conditioning units, hit the overpass at the 125th Street and Park Avenue station around 8:30 p.m.

Photos and video on social media showed the truck crunched up against the overpass with its rear trailer left disjointed and dislocated behind the vehicle's cab.

Police and firefighters were at the scene, although there were no reports of injuries.

Two of the station's tracks were closed and Metro-North trains were running with minor delays Monday night. There was also a speed restriction in the area for trains.

The DOT's bridge department inspected the overpass and gave it an "all clear" at 11:30 p.m.

Metro-North is expected to operate normally for the Tuesday morning commute.
