Police Search Queens for ‘Jaws' the Alligator After Sighting in Flushing Meadow Park

Police in New York City are searching for an alligator they've nicknamed "Jaws" after the reptile was allegedly spotted in a Queens park.

Jaws was last seen by a jogger at Flushing Meadow Park on Sunday, police said. The jogger called 911, but the elusive creature remains on the loose. In a photo posted on the 110th Precinct's Twitter page, two NYPD vehicles are shown scouring the park as part of the search.

The alligator is 3 1/2 feet long and "kinda thick," police said.
