NJ Transit Offers Special Service for U2 Fans to Meadowlands

NJ Transit is taking steps to get fans to and from Wednesday's U2 concert at the Meadowlands Sports Complex.

The agency will substitute single-level rail cars with multilevel trains on the Meadowlands Rail Line to increase seating capacity by about 20 percent.

Concert-goers are advised to purchase round-trip tickets in advance.

More customer service representatives will be on duty and portable ticket vending machines will be on hand in New York City and Secaucus.

The Meadowlands Rail Line can carry about 10,000 customers per hour. There are connections at Hoboken Terminal and the Lautenberg Station at Secaucus Junction.

Service will begin at 4 p.m.
