Motorcyclist Kiled in Downtown Manhattan Hit-and-Run

Siede Preis

A heartbroken Brooklyn mom says a police officer failed to help her as she desperately tried to get her daughter to the hospital following an asthma attack, according to news reports.

Police say a motorcyclist has been struck and killed by a car that fled the scene in lower Manhattan.

The 27-year-old victim was riding a Ducati motorcycle northbound on West Street when he was struck by a Nissan traveling eastbound on Canal Street Sunday evening.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was not immediately identified.

Police say the operator of the Nissan was later arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident and making an improper left turn.
