Man Slashed in Face With Box Cutter on Subway: Police

Suspect Lorenzo Lawson

Police are looking for a man they say slashed a subway rider in the face with a box cutter before running away.

The victim, a 45-year-old man, was on northbound platform inside the East 180th Street and Morris Park subway station when he was attacked just before 10 a.m. Monday, police say.

He sustained several cuts to his face in the assault.

The suspect has been identified as 50-year-old Lorenzo Lawson. It wasn't immediately clear whether he knew the victim or whether he allegedly slashed him at random.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
