Man Dies After Fishing Boat Capsizes Off Long Island

A man died after a commercial fishing boat he was aboard capsized off Long Island Sunday afternoon.

According to the Coast Guard, the boat capsized around 2 p.m. near the Shinnecock Inlet in Southampton.

The Coast Guard rescued one man from the boat, who then informed them that there had been another man on board.

Officials said, the second man was found dead near a jetty about 45 minutes after the initial distress call.

His identity has not been released and there is no word yet on what caused the boat to capsize.
