Police say a man tried to rob another man at knifepoint when he saw him counting his money while sitting on a tree log in Central Park.

The 31-year-old victim was sitting on a log, counting his money, near East Drive and East 109th Street at about 4 p.m. Saturday when the suspect approached him, police said.

The suspect allegedly threatened the victim with a knife and said, “Let me get that.” The victim then shouted at the suspect and ran.

The suspect left the park empty-handed and no one was injured.

Police released a sketch of the suspect (above).

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
