Police have arrested a man on charges of animal cruelty after he was captured on video in an elevator kicking and throwing a pit bull puppy.
The disturbing surveillance video shows the man, identified as Irving Sanchez, 46, yanking the puppy's leash, and then kicking and throwing him.
The puppy, named Max, survived the attack and is being cared for by Animal Care and Control. He is expected to be offered for adoption at some point.
Sanchez faces charges of aggravated cruelty to animals. He could not immediately be reached and it was not clear whether he had a lawyer.
