Macy's Bomb Threat Traced to Long Island Man: Police

A 53-year-old man faces a charge of making a terrorist threat for allegedly calling 911 to say there was a bomb inside a Macy's department store on Long Island.

Elvis Governor, of Hempstead, was to be arraigned on the charge Sunday after an investigation by Nassau County police linked him to the bomb scare at the store in the Roosevelt Field mall in East Garden City, authorities said.

Governor is accused of calling 911 at about 5:20 p.m. Thursday to make the bomb threat, which prompted managers to close the store for several hours.

Police searched the store and found no bomb.

There was no indication that Governor had obtained a lawyer who could comment on the charge.
