Cyclist Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash in New Jersey: Police

A cyclist was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash Thursday night in New Jersey.

A car hit 32-year-old Gregory Gingrich around 10:15 p.m. on Route 17 near the split for Crane Avenue in Rutherford, police said.

The Gingrich, who police say is from Michigan, is in stable condition at Hackensack University Medical Center with a fractured right leg, a fractured sinus cavity and a fractured orbital cavity.

Investigators say they are looking for a red, four-door sedan with a Maryland license plates and a cracked front windshield that was last seen taking the North Service Road exit just before Route 3.
