Donald Trump says a former winner of his TV reality show would do "fantastically" as New Jersey's lieutenant governor.

Randal Pinkett is among the names being considered by Gov. Jon Corzine as a running mate in the November general election.

Although he has no political history, Pinkett’s extensive background in his education and business makes him well equipped for the position, it seems.

Born and raised in New Jersey, he graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University. He received his M.B.A. and PhD at MIT as well as many honors following.

His place on the list is expected to be officially announced at a Corzine rally where President Obama will be present. Other candidates for the position include: State Senator Loretta Weinberg, D-Teaneck, and Barabara Buono, D-Middlesex .

Adding to the accolades: He won season four of NBC's "The Apprentice."

Trump says Pinkett emerged as the leader of a group of intimidating, highly educated competitors by using charm instead of pressure.

Trump tells The Associated Press Pinkett "didn't do it with the stick."
