A 16-year-old boy riding his bike was seriously injured when he collided with a car on Long Island, authorities say.
Police say the boy was riding his bike southbound on Wellwood Avenue in Lindenhurst when he apparently ran into a 2010 Volkswagen near the intersection at West Hoffman Avenue.
He was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip.
Police say the driver of the car stayed at the scene. Neither he nor the passengers in his vehicle were hurt.
The vehicle was impounded for safety check.
