Queens Man, 18, Arrested in Roommate's Murder: NYPD

Police have arrested an 18-year-old Queens man on murder and weapons charges after his roommate was found with head trauma in their Astoria apartment and later died at the hospital, authorities say.

Police responded to a 911 call for a dispute at 26-38 21st St. on Monday afternoon and found a 29-year-old man inside with severe head trauma, according to the NYPD.

The man, identified as Jesse Smith, was taken to Elmhurst General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

It wasn't immediately clear if the suspect, Quentin Capobianco, has an attorney.

The Daily News reports Capobianco, a student at St. John's University, was working for Smith, an attorney, as a paralegal. Each grew up on Long Island, the paper reports.

The Daily News reports the roommates had gotten into a fight over money and living arrangements, and that Capobianco bludgeoned Smith with a hammer.

Police would not immediately confirm those details.
