Four teenagers are under arrest for stealing oars from two fishermen, stranding them on an island, authorities say.
The teens were charged with felony grand larceny, misdemeanor and other charges.
A spokeswoman for the New York City Department of Environment Protection said police on shore and in a helicopter spotted the teens Monday rowing to shore with the stolen oars.
Spokeswoman Mercedes Padilla said the teens then hopped into a car. They were arrested a short time later in the parking lot of Fox Lane High School in Bedford.
She said the fishermen were left stranded in the middle of the Cross River Reservoir.
