2 Teenage Girls Struck by Car in Queens

Two teenage girls were recovering at a hospital Sunday morning after a car slammed into them in Queens.

The accident took place outside of Giardino's restaurant in Douglaston at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
   
Witnesses said a 14-year-old girl and a 16-year-old girl were crossing Douglaston Parkway when a BMW hit them.
   
The driver stayed at the scene of the accident.
   
Witnesses said a restaurant patron helped resuscitate one of the girls.
