Dr. Mark Green––one of the most popular characters in the long-running hospital drama "E.R."––will do a guest turn in an episode of the show's final season.
Fans of the show could be understandably confused at Doc Green's return, seeing as he exited the show after succumbing to a fatal brain tumor. Side-stepping the old television plot device standbys "dream sequence" and "ghost appearance," Edwards' character returns courtesy of a "flashback episode," in which he will treat a patient played by Lucinda Bassett, years before she becomes County General's Dr. Cate Banfield, according to TV Guide.
Edwards is filming the episode "Heal Thyself" this week and it will air during "E.R."'s 15th and final season.
