Read this and you'll look smart. You don't have to be intelligent to impress people -- you just have to fake it. Here's a daily list of fascinating articles that will wow your friends, surprise your co-workers and make you seem sharp at a cocktail party or over the lunch counter....

    • The U.S. is now weathered the worst storms on record. The frequency of storms and their ferocity are unprecedented in what is one of the most dangerous and costliest storm eras in recorded history.

    • Scientists revealed that birds' earliest ancestor was a pigeon-sized dinosaur that is both terrifying and ugly as hell. The Epidexipteryx had large teeth that could tear apart the flesh of its prey and ribbon-like ornamental tail feathers. Yikes.
    • What's your tell? A former FBI non-verbal communication expert and poker master analyzes the nonverbal cues poker players give at the table.
    • Researchers are able to selectively erase memories from mice and hope that the technology could be used to cure post-traumatic stress syndrome and other memory afflictions.  Scientists were able to manipulate the protein in mice's brains to erase memories without affecting others.
    • Facebook has made us lose our right to lose touch. This "infinite friendspace" has its downside, for sure.
