Miley Cyrus Twerks and Shocks in VMA Performance

Miley Cyrus put on an eye-popping, high-energy performance at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday that elicited some head-scratching from fellow celebrities in the audience.

The 20-year-old slithered out of a giant fuzzy teddy bear and sang, winked and twerked her way through her song "We Can't Stop." The former Disney star was wearing a teddy bear unitard, while flanked by dancers wearing even bigger teddy bear costumes.

She then stripped down to nude undies and bra and sang the hook to the summer hit "Blurred Lines" with Robin Thicke, who came out to share the stage with the almost-naked pop star.

Cyrus prefaced the show with a promise of an even "crazier" VMA moment than the Britney Spears and Madonna lip-lock in 2003. Although it's debatable whether her twerking topped the famous kiss, Cyrus performance now joins the rank of other buzz-worthy VMA moments.

Those on Twitter and in the audience weren't sure how to react, but the looks on the faces of Will Smith and his family probably sum it up, even if they were reacting to a different performance at the show:
