Snooki's ball-drop debut got spiked.
"It was never intended or requested for Snooki to be in the actual New Year's Eve Ball in Times Square," organizers Times Square Alliance and Countdown Entertainment said in a statement. "The request to have her in a separate ball on a set-back roof came too late and was too impractical to fit in to our outdoor events."
Gossip site TMZ reported that the New Year's Eve festivities featuring the poofed reality star, whose real name is Nicole Polizzi, was moved to the cast's infamous Seaside Heights, N.J., digs. The site published photos showing a giant ball with "Snooki" emblazoned in lights across the diameter, suggesting the stunt may still be in play.
NBCPhiladelphia.com caught rehearsals for the ball drop taking place Thursday night. But Snooki was nowhere to be found as she kept tweeting about spending the night in New York City.
Earlier this month, Snooki said she was going to feel "like a friggin hamster" during the stunt, according to USA Today.
"It's the first time they've done it," the tanned hard-partier told the paper. "I'm not sure how it's going to work, but I think it'll be fine ... and if not, someone is going to be in big trouble!"
