Earlier this week we wrote about designer Yigal Azrouël's slow and steady—and very deliberately-charted—course towards world domination. And now, the next destination on his map: Paris. According to Style.com, Azrouël is moving his Fall 2011 menswear collection to the City of Lights, where he'll present a runway show on January 23.
Azrouël told Style.com: “I decided to show my men’s collection in Paris this season because I feel like the inherent aesthetic lends itself to a more a European feel," adding that Paris lends a more focused environment to menswear labels.
The designer founded his menswear collection in early 2009 with an offering for the Fall 2009 season, but only held his first runway presentation for menswear this past September during Spring 2011 Fashion Week. Womenswear will still be presented here in New York.
