Designer Erdem Morialoglu was named the winner of the British Fashion Council/Vogue Fashion Fund prize for his dazzling, feminine women's wear line, taking home 200,000GBP, or about $301,000, and a year of guidance from a network of esteemed mentors.

Erdem has earned consistent praise from the fashion set, proving there needn't be a sacrifice of the prettiness factor for the sake of high fashion.  At once frilly and sophisticated, Erdem has made a name of itself in rolling out a slew of party-perfect dresses in original, kaleidoscopic prints.

Morialoglu beat out a respectable roster of competitors, including Angel Jackson, Christopher Kane, Clements Ribeiro, E. Tautz, Marios Schwab, Nicholas Kirkwood, and Richard Nicoll, and will now work with the BFC on what they've "tailored specifically to assist [Moralioglu] in achieving his business goals for the next twelve months, with the aspiration that the network developed during this year will endure throughout his career."

A statement from the designer called the prize a great honor, and because we can't get enough of Erdem these days, we selfishly think this business catalyst is just as beneficial to the us, and the shopping public, as it is to the company. If you're looking to buy some of the winner's pieces, we'd recommend the selection at Net-a-Porter or Barneys.
