The only dress that might actually get more anticipatory buzz than Kate Middleton's royal wedding gown is that of Bella Swan, the lead character in the "Twilight" series. Bella's gown is set to be unveiled at the November 18 premiere of "Breaking Dawn," the latest installment in the vampire romance series, in which she weds her vampire love, Edward, and swoons result from Twi-hards throughout the nation.
In this case, however, we at least now know the designer behind the dress: Carolina Herrera. While numerous designers -- from Prabal Gurung to Zac Posen -- have been rumored contenders for the honor, it seems Herrera's classic ladylike style has won the day: Summit Entertainment confirmed the news with a tweet.
The partnership is an interesting one for Herrera, who has proven a fantastic mentor for upstarts like Prabal Gurung through the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, but who hasn't really captured the attention of the younger market: Her designs are classic, chic, and ladylike -- definitely not edgy or youthful, per se. That said, when it comes to bridal -- and bridal trends of late -- traditional may be the new contemporary.
