Nicole Richie Launches New Fashion Line

Fresh off the success of her House of Harlow 1960 jewelry collection and recent maternity-wear line, Nicole Richie is throwing her hat in the women's wear ring with a new contemporary collection called Winter Kate.

"I’ve wanted to design a clothing collection for a very long time," the star told WWD. Much like her personal style and her previous designs, Winter Kate will have a decidedly eclectic, '60s vibe, and will include mostly an array of colorful tops -- from camisoles to printed bed jackets, which apparently are a huge staple in Richie's own wardrobe (worn over jeans, mostly).

The price points will fall in mid-range territory, with wholesale prices starting at $35 for tops and $110 for dresses -- expect these to cost up to three times that once they arrive at department stores like Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's and Intermix in February 2010.

“Fashion should be accessible,” Richie said.
