Kid Cudi says if you haven't heard much from him lately, it's "just the calm before the storm."

He tweeted Monday: "Cudder Season returns this summer."

The Cleveland-born artist, who released "Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager" in 2010, recently split from his record label, Dream On, saying he wanted to concentrate on rock music.

He said Monday that he's been working with Dot Da Genius on a "lovely beast of an album" and has been producing some other music as well, including for Chip tha Ripper.

"We have created this new sound," Cudi tweeted Monday. "Be ready."
