Alt-rock standard bearers Death Cab for Cutie are pulling out all the bells and whistles for their spring tour.
Well, maybe not whistles, but there will be a string section, and we can't at this moment rule out a brass section, harp or vibraphone, as the band is bringing along self-described "modular San Francisco" players the Magik*Magik Orchestra, who have previously collaborated with The Walkmen, The Dodos and How to Dress Well, and played on last year's Death Cab album Codes and Keys.
Frontman Ben Gibbard promised via Twitter "Expect older tunes never played live + recent stuff, all w/ killer arrangements."
But don't just take it from him, you can check that all out for yourself when they drop by the Beacon Theatre on April 27.
