Unfounded, but Fascinating Rumors About Model Coco Rocha

Coco Rocha's at the top of her game this year. She's had star turns in Vogue (she stars as Juliet in this month's issue), recently relaunched her web site with wonderfully playful, quintessentially "Coco" over-the-top posing, and also just unveiled the latest in a series of videos she filmed for Style.com. Given that high level of visibility, it seemed natural that sooner or later someone would find something suspect to talk about. Leave it to Fashionologie to find that something. In a post entitled "Why is Coco Rocha wearing a wig?" (so enticing!), they make their case: First, Ms. Rocha showed up to the filming of said Style.com video wearing what was, upon closer inspection, a wig (there's a great photo on the blog). Second, a couple of weeks ago, she showed up to the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards wearing a headscarf. While the blog at first suggests that perhaps Vogue has asked her to do something totally wild with her hair (she did make the odd comment: "I had to come with Albertus [her date at the awards] because Vogue has rights on my hair until next month’s issue"), they later start down a much more suspect—and of course much more scandalous—track by pointing out that the model has planned a two-month break from the business. Could she be ill? Could Vogue have done something totally bizarre and awful to her hair? Let the rumors commence!
