After a couple years of neighbor protests, ownership squabbles and some pretty nifty signmaking, the 21-story Cooper Square Hotel will soon soft open with around 90 of its 145 rooms ready to welcome the stylish, fabulous, and stylishly fabulous. The multi-level food/beverage program, drop-dead gourgeous 2BR penthouse and rendered greenery still have a ways to go, but the hotel folks were nice enough to send us some photos of one of the completed guest rooms, as well as an updated building shot (architect Carlos Zapata is the man behind the madness). Rooms are expected to fetch $375 and up, about what six months of Bowery living used to cost. And remember, no drugs or hookers allowed. Wow, the Bowery has changed!
