Cat Woman Thief Strikes Shoe, Beauty Stores

Beware high-end shoe stores and beauty shops: The catwoman is targeting you.

A supervillan wannabe strolled into the Arche shoe store in Astor Place Thursday, perused the merchandise for about 45 minutes, then put on a cat mask, and pounced on a sales clerk, according to police. She came away with $86 in cash.

A store manager told NBCNewYork said that the woman threatened the attendant with a weapon but did not flash anything to get the money. It was all caught on video, according to the manager.

The 5-foot-6, 115-pound thief struck again at The Body Shop later in the week on Austin Street and Continental Avenue in Queens, but this time she traded the mask for a burka, according to the New York Post. She fled The Body Shop with $500.

The woman is described in a wanted poster as being possibly of Middle Eastern descent and having amber eyes.
