Chet Hanks -- or Chet Haze as he apparently wants to be known -- came out with the hip-hop track "White and Purple (Northwestern Remix). It's an ode to his college life at NU and a parody of Wiz Khalifa’s recent hit "Black and Yellow."
While not completely original work, Hanks/Haze has the college-age confidence. He references hitting blunts, books and the keg (or maybe The Keg, for those familiar with the popular NU bar), and says in the chorus, "I'm living college life only ‘til the world is mine."
"A lot of people are wondering if I only do remixes," he said Wednesday on Twitter. "Might have to release an original real soon."
U.S. & World
Hanks has dabbled in his father’s profession, acting in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Bratz: The Movie, but is apparently preferring a career in music.
