A man trying to sell swipes on his MetroCard was stabbed at the Yankee Stadium subway station by a rider to whom he was trying to sell a fare, police sources say.
The man got into an argument with the rider near the turnstiles inside the station at 161st Street and River Avenue in the Concourse section at about 2:15 p.m., according to police.
The rider stabbed the swiper at least three times, sources said, not far from where the Transit District police office is located in the station.
The victim was taken to Lincoln Hospital with a collapsed lung. He's listed in serious but stable condition.
Police are searching for the suspect.
