A woman was slashed on the face Saturday while riding the subway in midtown Manhattan, police say.
The 24-year-old woman was cut on the cheek while on the E train near the Fifth Avenue and 53rd Street station, the NYPD said. She was attacked shortly after 6 p.m.
The attacker, a 24-year-old man, was taken into custody and brought to a psychiatric facility, police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
