Reports of Vogue editrix Anna Wintour's ambitions of political grandeur first surfaced as far back as January when rumors flew that she was vying for a post within the Obama administration. Granted, at the time, the word on the street was that Ms. Wintour would be leaving Vogue at the end of her contract, and she vehemently denied both rumors.
But now today Page Six is reporting that Wintour is back in the running for a potential White House gig by "wooing White House social secretary Desiree Rogers at Monkey Bar last week." Apparently, there were some fairly dazzling fashion luminaries present at the table as well, including Vanity Fair editor in chief Graydon Carter, Jennifer Garner, and designer Nicholas Ghesquiere.
Wintour herself has been putting on an unusually public face--a departure for a woman known for putting a high premium on privacy. In addition to entertaining White House members, Wintour has also been doing a tour for the upcoming "September Issue" documentary, which takes a behind-the-scenes look at life in Vogue's offices. Sources close to the film have been notoriously tight-lipped about the project, but now the trailer is finally out with all new incredible clips. We’re not sure what part we like better … designer Thakoon Panichgul likening Anna to "Madonna," or creative director Grace Coddington holding up a cheery pink jacket and Wintour simply saying: "No."
