WATCH: Officer Rescues Bear Cub Stuck 65 Feet Up Tree

A precocious bear cub that got stuck in a tree high above the ground Tuesday had to be saved by an environmental officer who caught the entire rescue on camera.

Video shows officer Anthony Glorioso remove a small bear whose head got stuck between two branches 65 feet above the ground in Windham Mountain Village, the state’s department of environmental conservation says.

With the help of a local construction company’s boom crane, Glorioso went up to help the bear. The officer tried to free the cub by prying it out of the tree, but the bear’s neck was stuck between the branches, so he had to cut off a section of the tree to get him out.

He lowered the cub by using a bucket. As soon as the bucket came down, the bear ran back into a nearby wooded area.
