Suspected Drunk Driver Found at Crash Scene Wearing ‘Hold My Beer' Shirt

A Connecticut man wearing a T-shirt reading "Hold my beer" was arrested on drunken driving and other charges after he was found behind the wheel of a crashed car Monday, state police say.

Troopers found Harrison Wootton, 26, at the scene of a one-car crash on Wilson Road in the town of Putnam after 1 a.m., after he apparently veered off the road and struck a stone wall, state police said.

Suspecting the driver was under the influence, troopers conducted a field sobriety test. Wootton did not pass.

The car he was driving was also found to be unregistered and uninsured, police said.

Wootton was arrested on charges of operating an unregistered motor vehicle, failure to have insurance, misuse of plates, failure to drive in the proper lane and operating under the influence of alcohol/drugs.

Wootton is scheduled to appear in Danielson Superior Court on April 20. He has been released on $500 bond.

It wasn't clear if he had an attorney.
