Bomb Threat Scrawled on High School Wall Forces Evacuation

A Rockland County high school was briefly evacuated Friday morning after school officials saw a bomb threat scrawled on a wall and called the cops, officials say.

Details on the nature of the threat involving Spring Valley High on Route 59 weren't immediately clear. An initial call came in around 8:15 a.m.

School officials say the building was evacuated out of an abundance of caution; students were seen spewing into the parking lot and authorities say they were held in heated buses until the building was swept by the bomb squad.

The building was deemed safe and students were allowed to return to class after about an hour or so. The school serves more than 1,000 students in grades 9-12.
