The NYPD has suspended a detective who was arrested for drunken driving after crashing her car on Long Island while with her young son.
Newsday reports 40-year-old Raquel Warburton, of West Babylon, was suspended without pay. Warburton pleaded not guilty in court Saturday to multiple offenses including aggravated driving while intoxicated with a passenger 15-years-old or younger.
Authorities say Warburton was drunk last Friday night when her vehicle crashed into a wooden barrier on the Robert Moses Causeway. West Islip firefighters rescued the off-duty detective and her son. Officials say Warburton and her son weren't harmed in the crash.
According to NYPD officials, Warburton is an 11-year veteran with the force.
Her attorney, Philip Karasyk, wasn't available for comment.
