The weather system, the third in as many days to pound the tri-state area with heavy precipitation, brought raging downpours along with frequent lightning and gusts up to 60 mph throughout the day. The National Weather Service says a half to three-quarters inch of rain was possible for much of the tri-state, with the strongest winds expected Wednesday afternoon through the evening.

Thursday will be drier, but highs will only reach the mid to high 40s.

It warms up again on Friday to end the workweek, but Storm Team 4 says it comes with a chance of wintry mix -- again -- that may change over to rain, mainly north and west of the city. Snow showers are possible again Saturday.
