A man was struck and killed by a livery cab as he tried to cross the Bronx River Parkway, police say.
The victim, who’s believed to be in his 50s, was trying to cross the throughway by foot Monday night. Police say he had been walking in the median before he attempted to cross the southbound lanes around 11 p.m.
As he went to cross, a livery cab heading south struck him near Boston Road, according to police.
Responding officers found the man lying in the roadway unconscious. Police said he was suffering from traumatic injuries.
Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene a short time later.
Police said no criminality is suspected and that the driver of the cab remained at the scene.
The NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad is looking into the crash.
