Man Pressed Knife Against Cab Driver's Stomach, Demanded Money: NYPD

A New York City cabbie was robbed by two men in Queens last week, one of them armed with a knife, police say.

The taxi driver picked up one passenger on the corner of Queens Boulevard and 71st Street at about 5 p.m. on March 24, according to the NYPD. He was told to drive to 101st Street, where another man hopped into the cab.

That is when the second man pulled out a knife, pressed it against the cab driver’s stomach and demanded his money, authorities said.

The driver handed over the money and the two suspects got out of the taxi and left the area, according to officials.

The NYPD described both men as being around 20 years old.

Police Friday morning released a photo of the second suspect, above, in hopes of catching him and getting him off the streets.
