AIDS activists have returned to the New York state Capitol a day after six were arrested for refusing to leave the building when it closed.
The group is pushing Gov. Andrew Cuomo and state lawmakers to budget $70 million to adequately fund Cuomo's own plan to end the AIDS epidemic by 2020.
Those arrested were taken into custody Monday without incident by state police after officers told them they had to leave.
Cuomo says he hopes to reduce new infections to 750 per year by 2020, down from 3,200 cases in 2013. The strategy includes expanded testing and treatment, a focus on drugs that reduce infection risk and housing AIDS patients.
Cuomo's spokeswoman says no one is more committed to ending HIV/AIDS than he is.
