A prison guard in New Jersey was charged Saturday with having sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl, authorities said.
Cole Boykin Jr., 34, is accused of having a sexual encounter with the girl on Friday at a hotel in Edison, police said. He allegedly arranged the liaison with the girl through a website.
Boykin, a guard at the New Jersey State Prison in Trenton, was charged with sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child and prostitution, police said.
Police had stopped the girl and a companion, a 15-year-old girl, outside the hotel and were told by them that they had gotten into a dispute with the prison guard, investigators said. Boykin had left the hotel, but police were able to trace him.
Boykin was being held at the Middlesex County jail. There was no indication that he had obtained a lawyer who could comment on the charges.
