NY Man Choked, Threw Wife's Puppy Against Wall: DA

A man accused of fatally brutalizing his wife's puppy has been indicted on a felony charge of aggravated cruelty to animals.

Staten Island District Attorney Michael McMahon says that, on different occasions, Jerry Moore choked the 2-pound Chihuahua, named Bambi, and threw her against a wall.

The prosecutor says the defendant's wife came home and found 2-month-old Bambi crying and unable to move. The little white puppy had to be euthanized on March 26.

A necropsy determined she died from a traumatic brain injury. The indictment says Bambi was killed in an "especially depraved and sadistic manner."

McMahon says the defendant's wife had an order of protection at the time.

There was no immediate information on an attorney who could comment on Moore's behalf.
