Several members of a violent drug gang operating near a New York City housing project were arrested in raids Tuesday and Wednesday, law enforcement officials told NBC 4 New York.
The gang sold crack cocaine, heroin and marijuana near the Diego Beekman Houses in the Bronx's Mott Haven neighborhoods, the officials said.
The investigation was led by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the NYPD.
The suspects arrested face federal gun and drug charges.
In addition to the arrests, several federal search warrants were executed, law enforcement sources told NBC 4 New York.
The suspects were being processed through the NYPD's 43rd Precinct and are expected to appear in federal court in Manhattan later Wednesday.
