Missing Rescue Dog Takes Lincoln Tunnel Solo to NJ: Sitter

A missing dog named Lolo was seen walking through the Lincoln Tunnel from New York to Hoboken.

A rescue dog who ran away from a dog walker traveled from Manhattan to Hoboken by going through the Lincoln Tunnel, family members said.

The dog, Lolo, was a rescue from the streets of Puerto Rico whose owner was on vacation, Peter Liao said. Liao, the owner's uncle, was dog sitting.

Lolo, a 9-month-old whippet mix, escaped from her dog walker on Thursday in Hell's Kitchen, Liao said.

Police saw her going through the Lincoln Tunnel and others spotted her at a Hoboken dog park, Liao said.

The 20-pound, short-haired dog somehow survived the sub-freezing overnight temperatures.

Friends are searching in Hoboken and Weehawken for the white dog, Liao said. His niece cut short her vacation and is back to help look.
