Kellyanne Conway Takes Twitter Jab at Mayor de Blasio Over Gym Video

Kellyanne Conway took a Twitter jab at Mayor de Blasio Monday after video surfaced of the Democrat leaving a YMCA in Brooklyn ahead of an apparent scheduled stop at a gym class in Queens.

Conway, counselor to President Donald Trump, retweeted a City Hall NY1 reporter's tweet of the mayor leaving the Prospect Park YMCA shortly after 10 a.m., a number of security officers escorting him to a black car, adding, "An elliptical thinker that has his city on a treadmill ... working out or working?"

Conway's tweet had more than 1,100 likes and 510 comments in an hour.

Eric Phillips, de Blasio's press secretary, responded with a simple retweet of Conway's post and three emojis -- a person lifting weights in between two Russian flags.

It's not the first time top White House and New York City officials have taken aim at one another on social media.

In December, the exchange involved Phillips and White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer. It came after a bag of unattended toys sparked a brief evacuation at Trump Tower, exacerbating gridlock around the midtown block that has seen partial closes since Trump was elected.

After the scene was clear, Spicer tweeted that officials were "back to work" following the "false alarm" and thanked the NYPD.

That prompted Phillips to fire back on Twitter: "No problem, we'll send you the bill."
